A veteran of financial User Experience (UX) with 20 years in the business focusing on business needs and innovation, András Rung has worked for various banks, institutions, and Fintech companies since 2002. He founded the Ergomania Product Design Agency and obtained his PhD in linguistics backed with AI in 2012. He is currently focusing on voice technologies and finance-related innovation. He moderated Money20/20 sessions in Amsterdam (2021, 2022) 2 times.

Hendrik Frank is Manager of European Government at Affairs at American Express, based in Brussels. Having joined American Express in 2022, he is responsible for the company’s relations with the European Institutions and is an expert in payments policy. Prior to joining American Express, Hendrik was Head of EU Affairs of Deutsche Kreditbank AG, a large German online bank, and worked as a consultant for APCO Worldwide, a public affairs consultancy. He was also one of the founding Board Members of Payments Europe, a trade association for the cards-based payments industry.

Hendrik holds a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin and a Bachelor in Business Management from King’s College London

Ms. Gabriella Biró is the Head of IT Supervision at the Central Bank of Hungary. She has an MSc in computer science from the Eötvös Loránd University of Science and obtained her IT security related experience at different banks and advisory companies. She worked as IT security manager at the Budapest development center of Tata Consultancy Services, IT security advisor at KPMG and PwC and head of IT security at Banco Popolare Hungary. Later she became the Chief IT Security Officer, then Chief Security Officer of UniCredit Bank Hungary. She joined the Central Bank of Hungary in January 2018 as the Head of IT Supervision. She holds Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certifications and is the Board member of the (ISC)2 Hungary Chapter and co-founder and board member of WITSEC (Women in IT Security).

Erwin Voloder has been involved in the blockchain sector since 2017, first as a start-up founder  in Canada and currently as a regulatory and technical expert in Europe. He is a former economist with both the European Commission and European Central Bank.  Currently he is Senior Policy Fellow at the European Blockchain Association. He frequently participates in working groups on programmable money and decentralized finance both at EU level and internationally including advising national governments on areas of tokenization and decentralized finance.

His areas of expertise include tokenization, monetary policy, digital asset regulation, geopolitics and programmable money. His current line of research focuses on programmable money solutions for cross-border CBDC use, including interoperability with DeFi markets, and ‘digital currency areas’ involving stabelcoin/CBDC fungibility. 

Senior Adviser, Payment and Settlement at the Bank of Finland

Kirsi Ripatti works as a Senior Adviser in the Banking Operations Department. She is also a member of the ECBS Payment and Settlements Systems Committee and the T2S Advisory Group.

Head of the Payment and Securities Clearing and Settlement Division & Recruitment

Matthias Schmudde is Head of the Payment and Securities Clearing and Settlement Division at the Deutsche Bundesbank in Frankfurt. He is a member of the MIPC (Market Infrastructure and Payments Committee) and responsible for cashless payment and securities clearing strategy, policy issues and oversight. Matthias Schmudde is in particular involved in Eurosystem related initiatives such as Instant Payments and the Vision 2020 for market infrastructures. Previously he focused on developing and improving the Bundesbank`s own payment and accounting systems. Before joining the Bundesbank in 1997, Matthias Schmudde obtained a master’s degree in business administration and completed an apprenticeship in banking.

László Kajdi is a Senior economic expert at the Central Bank of Hungary (MNB), and has been working in the retail payments field for 8 years. In 2020-2021 he spent one year at the European Central Bank’s retail payments policy team, working on various topics like instant payments, request-to-pay and digital euro. He holds a PhD in Geopolitics, his thesis topic was cross-border remittances to Hungary. His main tasks at the MNB cover the development of the Hungarian retails payments scene with policy and regulatory measures, as well as the facilitation and coordination of the development of instant payment-based market solutions. The development of the Hungarian retail payments infrastructure and the elaboration of new central functionalities are also part of his work. He is a member of MNB’s internal CBDC project, researching the effects of the possible introduction of a CBDC. He is the author of several Hungarian and international scientific papers with a focus of various retail payments topics, like interchange fees, remittances, payment habits of consumers and businesses etc.

László KISS is the Head of Strategic Product Sales (Merchant acquiring – POS) / Senior Manager and works for OTP Bank Plc since 2016. Primary focus on Merchant Acquisition related to Bank Card Acceptance. Previously, he worked in the Hungarian banking sector in different Controlling and Sales leader positions (at UniCredit, Raiffeisen and AXA Bank where he worked in AXA Belgium, as well). Currently, he participates an International double-degree Executive MBA program managed by SEED and the Maastricht School of Management (Netherland).

Besides, he has been very active in the area of merchant acquiring in Hungary and the Group countries since 2018. “Our strategy has been changed. We are digitalizing and thinking about cross borders, create our future and search for new & dynamic solutions. Our powerful & influential team works day over day to fit for expectations of our existing and new clients, to support their strategy and as Business Partner to help to reach their business goals. We believe that we are the ONE.”

His current focus is on selling established payment innovations from Global World to the CEE region, along with his ongoing tasks of improving and strengthening the market position and strategy of OTP customers in Hungary and out of Hungary, as well.

Since April 2022 Christian Rau holds the position of Senior Vice President Crypto and
Fintech Enablement for Mastercard in Europe.

In close cooperation with European and global account and product teams and our
customers and partners he works on designing and deploying innovative digital
payment propositions.

Heading the Central European Product Team between 2015 and 2019 he was
responsible for the introduction of Debit Mastercard in Germany and Switzerland.
Subsequently he led the Mastercard Vienna office as General Manager for the
Austrian Market.

Christian joined Mastercard in 2012 after having held positions in the
telecommunication and banking sector.

Daniela Simona Bobocea

Daniela Bobocea is leading the Digital Transformation of Eximbank Group Romania since 2018, and she Is responsible for the IT and Digital Strategy, Digital transformation of the Group entities, Digital Platform implementation. Prior to this, she had led for 10 years the Regional IS Audit & Consultancy Services Division of Eurobank Group Greece, delivering assurance and consultancy services with a digital twist in Eurobank’s European subsidiaries. She has 20+ years’ international experience in the financial-banking services, working for several major European Banks (Raiffeisen Bank, Unicredit, Alpha Bank. Eurobank).

Before engaging in the Banking career, Daniela’s debut was in Artificial Intelligence Lab Bucharest. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence.

Daniela holds MSc in Computer Science from Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania and MBA in Finance (Summa Cum Laudae) from HEC Montreal, Canada.

Director, Corporate Bank Securities Services | Market Advocacy

Since October 2010, Britta has been part of the Market Advocacy team within Deutsche Bank’s Global Transaction Banking division, now Corporate Bank. In this role, she is responsible for several EU regulatory initiatives regarding the financial market infrastructure (e.g. MIFID, SFTR, BMR and IBOR transition), T2S and their impact on the GTB securities business. Britta is a member of several European infrastructure groups, e.g. ECB Advisory Group on Market Infrastructures for Securities and Collateral (AMI-SeCo), AMI-SeCo Harmonisation Steering Group, T2S Change Review Group etc.

Britta joined Deutsche Bank in December 2008, before that she worked almost 14 years as a consultant in the financial industry focusing on strategic projects in the post-trade industry. Britta Woernle studied Business Administration at Frankfurt University and holds a degree as “Diplom-Kauffrau”.
